People Watching by Hannah Bonam-Young
People Watching by Hannah Bonam-Young is a steamy, emotional contemporary romance that explores the push-and-pull between wanderlust and putting down deep family roots.
The story follows Prudence "Prue" Welch, a quiet, introverted woman who has found a safe—if somewhat stagnant—routine in her small, charming tourist town of Baysville, Northern Ontario. She works at her father's gas station, writes poetry, and serves as a caregiver for her mother, who was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. While Prue once dreamed of leaving, she has sacrificed those dreams to support her family.
Everything changes when Milo Kablukov, a free-spirited, enigmatic wanderer in a beat-up van, rolls into town to help his brother. Milo represents everything Prue is not: adventurous, unattached, and highly experienced. Desperate for a change and a way to step out of her comfort zone, Prue strikes up an unlikely friendship with him. Their chemistry quickly intensifies, leading Prue to propose a wild agreement: she asks the transient Milo to give her casual-sex lessons. However, as their temporary arrangement deepens, they both have to figure out if taking a real leap of faith is worth the risk.
