Love in the Time of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson

The story follows Phoebe Walsh, a PhD candidate who is spending the summer at her childhood home in Florida to clean it out after her father's passing and finish writing her dissertation on the history of the true crime genre.

Because she spends all her time analyzing psychological profiles, podcasts, and data on killers, Phoebe is hyper-vigilant and deeply suspicious of everyone.
