A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks

The story takes place in New Bern, North Carolina, and follows Miles Ryan. Miles's life seemed perfect until his high school sweetheart and wife, Missy, was killed in a hit-and-run accident two years ago. Devastated and consumed by grief, Miles is left as a single father to their young son, Jonah.
